Discover the green heart of Venice and its province: from vast urban parks to pristine coastal oases and nature reserves. These areas offer unforgettable experiences for outdoor enthusiasts, families, and nature lovers. A journey into sustainability, biodiversity, and the hidden natural treasures of the Venetian lagoon.

Parco San Giuliano, Mestre (VE)

One of the largest urban parks in Europe, covering 74 hectares of greenery overlooking the lagoon. It features cycling paths, playgrounds, event spaces, and a spectacular view of Venice. A symbol of sustainability and urban renewal. The park is easily accessible by bus in just 15 minutes.

Forte Marghera, Mestre (VE)

Forte Marghera is a historic 19th-century fortress surrounded by greenery, now transformed into a vibrant cultural center just outside Venice. The fort hosts artistic events, exhibitions, festivals, and spaces dedicated to youth creativity, and is surrounded by a large public park ideal for strolling and relaxing. With its historic buildings, canals, and green spaces, it represents a perfect example of urban redevelopment and heritage enhancement.

San Nicolò, Alberoni, and Ca' Roman – Lido di Venezia and Pellestrina (VE)

Located along the Lido of Venice and the island of Pellestrina, these three protected coastal areas are part of the Natura 2000 network. Dunes, pine forests, and coastal habitats host rare species such as the Kentish plover. Ideal for nature walks and birdwatching in pristine environments. These areas are accessible by vaporetto, bicycle, or on foot, and represent a sustainable and fascinating alternative to Venetian urban tourism.

WWF Oasis Valle Averto, Campagna Lupia (VE)

A 200-hectare nature reserve in the southern lagoon, managed by WWF. This wetland is rich in biodiversity, with over 200 bird species. Access is by reservation, offering an immersive experience among reeds, woods, and lagoons. This lagoon environment is characterized by brackish waters, reed beds, hygrophilous woods, and mudflats, which are home to a rich variety of flora and fauna.
